From a viral TikTok video (5M+ views) to a luxurious brand elevating the aesthetic of kitchens where African spices come alive.
Our story
In 2019, I moved into my first dream apartment and instantly fell in love with my kitchen. I started organizing, labeling, and creating the perfect setup — every spice, jar, and cabinet in its place. When I ordered spice jars and stickers from Amazon, I quickly realized I didn’t use half the spices on those labels, and none worked for the African spices that filled my kitchen. So, I decided to design and print my own — elegant labels that maintained the aesthetic I loved while celebrating the flavors I grew up with.
Fast forward to 2021, when my dear mum visited from Nigeria. She arrived — as all mums do — with a suitcase full of Nigerian spices, foods, and snacks. She completely took over my kitchen, cooking delicious meals and filling my home with familiar aromas. When she left, I went to cook the next day and noticed something that made me burst out laughing: she had scraped off some of my labels and handwrote the names of African spices I hadn’t made stickers for! I recorded it for TikTok — and that video went viral, hitting over 1 million views in just 24 hours.
The comments were filled with people laughing, relating, and asking where they could get African spice stickers of their own. That’s when I realized — this wasn’t just my story; it was our story. A community of people who love their culture, their food, and their aesthetic kitchens. And so, what started as a funny TikTok moment evolved into a brand built to celebrate and elevate the beauty of kitchens where African spices are used and loved.
